Mitt jobb är ju som de flesta vet vid det här laget, att köra malmtåg från och till Kiruna. De bilder jag lägger upp här är från ett arbetspass på-väg-att-avslutas. 

Har just lämnat mina tomvagnar på sjöbangår'n. Raddan till vänster är det långtåg jag haft med mig från Björkliden denna dag. 68 tomburkar.

Full fart....? Eehhh. Nä. För att inte skrämma ihjäl eventuella insar eller handledare som möjligen kantänkas se detta, kan jag meddela att det bara är en lek med zoomen.... Dvärgen ovan huv'et står i stopp. O så gör jag med!

Såhär ser det ut egentligen. MTAB-växlingen arbetar i vagnverksta'n och fjärren fick inte om min växel (hade visst inget med dem att göra, men nån form av beläggning måste ha infunnit sig). Hade lodrätt i signalen före men fick tvärstopp här. Slutade med att jag fick snett höger och således gå ut o kolla att växeln slutit ordentligt innan jag fick fortsätta ner till lokstallet med loket. Lokförartermer i parti och minut men det tillhör mitt jobb i alla fall :-)

För veckans röda tisdag har jag valt några bilder från Falucruisingen 2008. SysterYster och Sambon hade kvar sin Ford-cab och vi tog med oss svägerskan och for en sväng på stan.

My sister and her fiance owned a red Ford Galaxie convertible for a few years. They sold it and bought another old American car last year. One evening every summer there is a big car cruising event in Dalarna and this was the night of the 2008 summer cruising. Warm and cozy, a perfect night for a trip in the "cab"! Our sister-in-law asked to join us and we brought her and the kids (my kids' plus their cousins) for a tour around the town. Of course there were lots and lots of cars in different colors, but I picked some of the red ones I caught on camera, for Ruby Tuesday.

On the shot of the Corvette you might see a red ring to the far right. That's my brother - and father of the two kids.

It grew slightly darker. Sky still looks bright, but that is not really true!

More Ruby Tuesday photos @ Work of the Poet

As I was looking for bird photos for another photo meme I came across this seagull. Since it had some red in it I decided to put it up with RT! It's a photo published before but for any Ruby Tuesday people it's new.

It's photographed through a window in a hotel in Narvik on a very cloudy and gray day. This young seagull just sat there on the rooftop and let me take his portrait over and over :-)

Ruby Tuesday

Ännu en röd tisdag :-) I morgon åker julen ut men jag hinner en sista julbild före det.

Last breaths of this past christmas will be the photo for this week's Ruby Tuesday. "Tjugondag Knut" is the day we throw out xmas in our house. Old traditions. Twenty days after christmas and that is the 13th of January - as in tomorrow. One more day, the poinsiettia and heart embroidered drapes will stay up :-)

Jag hade redan bestämt mig att lägga upp min julgardin när jag läste att Mary ville se röda böcker. Därför utökar jag mitt inlägg med lite "bilder ur min bokhylla".

Since I hade already set my mind on putting up the embroidered kitchen curtains/ drapes this week and Mary wanted to see red books, I decided to expand my Ruby Tuesday post to include some shots from my bookshelves. Or rather photos of some of their content :-)

I love to read and I now see from the novels I chose for these shots, that they all are in original language, English! I prefer to read a lot of the books in the English original if I can get my hands on them. Not a too difficult task these days with all the Internet shops available. Some of them are "lost in Translation". Especially the Potter books are not very benefited, being red in Swedish for an adult reader... As you can tell, I am a fan of fantasy and fiction. Demons, vampires, wizards and the occational detective novel. These are the ones that recently been read, that happened to have some red in the covers.

~ Gena Showalter is one of my new favorite authors and I have eagerly read all her books about the Lords of the Underworld, both in paper form as well as the digital editions (that will come in paper form at a later date, she says on her site).
~ Charlaine Harris books about Sookie Stackhouse are all read and listened to. She also writes about Roe Teagarden, a former librarian who stumbles across murdered people more times than anyone should. Have you seen the English TV series Midsomer Murders? A bit like that :-)
~ The Harry Potter books are here represented by the seventh and last one. Love these and have read them several times as well as listened to Audio Books.

~ John Bauers Sagovärld - is a fairytale and storybook filled with John Bauer's darling troll and fairy illustrations.

~ Barbie Millicent Roberts - a book filled with mere eye candy but I also own a few encyclopedias and other books stuffed with information about this eleven inch lady and her world.

~ Two of several books about birds I frequently search info in. Not on daily bases but they stand there waiting for that bird ID question, or other for the moment needed info.

~ Sju sorters kakor - is an absolute classic among cookie recipe books in Sweden. Two issues from different years. I tend to go back to the one to the right, the oldest of my two. No idea how many issues they have made if this one, but it has been around for several decades!

Ruby Tuesday

Jag går i ett ständigt dis av trötthet, allt beroende på vårt körschema, så vad kan passa bättre för ett trött tisdagstema än just det? Mitt schema..... Fototekniskt, helt fantastiskt! Fotogenic, ännu bättre. Eller? Nä. Men jag blir trött bara av att tänka på det o det är ju vad det handlar om idag. Har en trött Make, trötta barn och en trött katt, men så många andra fotar söta kissar så jag tar det som gör mig mest trött just nu, och det får bli mitt bidrag denna vecka!

First Ruby Tuesday of 2010 :-) My shot this week shows the old (former) fire station, which these days is a mere office building - and the clock tower of our city hall. The old fire station is painted in the for Sweden so typical Falu Rödfärg, the red color that is made in the copper mine town, Falun (which is my home birth town).

Next week Mary wants to see photos of books. I already had my photo planned but will see if I can catch some red books as well :-) I do have some!

Ruby Tuesday 

Denna vecka ska vi göra en tillbakatitt på året som gått. Vad har hänt? För min del är det en hel del.

Jag har börjat blogga :-) Skulle ha haft ett foto på Lapp-toppen där den är ansluten till bloggen, men den vill inte vara med på nåt sätt så det får bli ett shot av burken i sig med bloggbild av den här skärmen :-)

Min fd granne Fyrabarnsmamman som flyttade till Sköna Hems hemsida i våras lyckades övertala mig att börja. Har inte gått en dag sedan dess utan ett inlägg.... Ja himmel o plättar!

Storpigan o hennes menageri av djur har flyttat hem. Hon flyttade ensam till Piteå men kom hem med möss, marsvin o katt. Neo är allas älskling och ibland ett tacksamt foto-objekt så han får representera unghögen o alla djuren. Kottarna vill ju inte alltid vara med på bild - o framför allt inte Matte.

Givetvis måste jag ha med ett tåg bland mina foton. Jag har ju blivit färdig lokförare, nu i december efter lite mer än ett års utbildning. Var praktiken som gjorde att det drog ut på tiden. Bristen på tåg förra vintern, men här är ett av dem i alla fall. Eller snarare två. Vi bytte lok med mötande tåg just här. Ett par holländare fotade och filmade. Mycket sån't efter Malmbanan! Fotograferande lokofiler alltså. De hänger som klasar i stolpar, träd o flockas i kanten på bangårdarna när man passerar. Oftare sommartid men som synes, vilken tid på året som helst. (mitt foto förstås, på två gånger 500 meter tåg)

Sist men inte minst, faktiskt två collage på ett av mina nydanade intressen. Jag har alltid gillar kyrkor, arkitekturen o så, och i sommar har jag fotat kyrkor på löpande band. Här är några av dem....

Last Tuesday of the year coming up in an hour (where I live) and since it will be a new year in just a few days, I chose a festive partydress for this week's RT-photo. Barbie doll's friend Kira/Marina shows off her New Year's outfit, made by Yours Truly. The sheath dress with overlay lace skirt is bright metallic red and gold and she chose her orange fake fur to go along. Dressed for Success.... Or whatever.... LOL!
